Director of Transportation

The Director of Transportation is responsible for overseeing the public transportation for Benton County including scheduling trips, supervising drivers, and managing service and maintenance of vehicles.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.  While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee is regularly required to drive, stand, and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and/or frequently lift negligible amount or constantly lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objectives, including the human body.

The visual requirements for this position are similar to those classified as machine operators, inspection, close assembly, clerical, administrative. This is a minimum standard for use with those whose work deals largely with preparing and analyzing data and figures, accounting, transcription, computer terminal, extensive reading, visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, operation of machines (including inspection), using measurement devices, assembly or fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes.

This position will require flexibility to work additional hours beyond the typical work day when needed including evenings and weekends.

This worker is subject to inside and outside environmental conditions. The worker is required to travel, by car, van, or bus, within the six county region.
