Maintenance Superintendent

Under the general direction of the County Engineer, supervises a wide variety of maintenance and repair activities on county roads, bridges, and culverts; operates machinery when necessary; performs related work as required.

While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, and walk and drive.  Frequently, the employee is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must continually lift and/or move up to 10 pounds; frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision as required to operate equipment both in daylight and at night, and sometimes in hazardous weather conditions (such as rain, snow, sleet).

Will be required to work a non-traditional work schedule as projects necessitate.

Work will be in an indoor office environment approximately 25% of the time and outdoors 75% of the time.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and high, precarious places. The work environment will include temperatures varying from extreme heat in the summer to extreme cold in the winter.
