Office Manager
Position Responsibilities:
Each of the following duties and responsibilities are performed on an on-going basis. The duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not necessarily limited to:
- Perform clerical tasks including, but not limited to, maintaining departmental files, handling incoming and outgoing mail, preparing and placing ads and legal notices, preparing and routing permits and work orders.
- Perform basic accounting functions relating to accounts receivable and accounts payable.
- Handle work order requests and complaints from the general public and route them to the appropriate people.
- Act as the office receptionist, answering telephones and greeting people at the front counter.
- Issue permits for work within the right of way, utilities, dust control, tile crossings, oversize loads and other request for work within the county.
- Make trips to the post office and courthouse as needed.

- Superior communication skills on the telephone and face-to-face.
- Superior English language skills, both verbal and written.
- Superior organizational skills for handling requests of a varied nature and maintaining computer and office files.
- Excellent mathematical skills .
- Ability to track inventories.
- Proficiency with databases, Word and Excel. Basic understanding of computer file management and use is essential.
- Ability to read maps and verbalize directions.

- Regularly required to stand, walk, and drive.
- Ability to grasp, lift, manipulate and/or carry items weighing up to 30 pounds.
- Ability to perform work at levels from below knee level to approximately shoulder level with or without mechanical assistance.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Some college, particularly in the areas of business, computers or accounting is prefered but not required.
- A valid state driver's license.
