NOTICE OF COUNTY ACCEPTING SEALED BIDS FOR SALE OF PROPERY

The Benton County Board of Supervisors will be accepting sealed bids for the sale of county-owned property located in Benton County, Iowa, referred to as the “Cherveny Wildlife Area” and is described as follows:

All of Chicago Milwaukee Corporation's (the former Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific Railroad Company) 100 foot wide and extra width right of way located in the Northwest Quarter of the Northeast Quarter (NW¼  NE¼ ) and the Northeast Quarter of the Northeast Quarter (NE¼  NE¼) lying westerly of the West line of County Road Highway V56 of Section Sixteen (16), Township Eighty-three (83) North, Range Eleven (11) West, containing 7.15 acres, more or less,

Upon the publishing of this notice, sealed bids may be submitted and accepted by 3:00 P.M. on April 2, 2026. No sealed bid will be accepted after 3:00 P.M. on April 2, 2026. All sealed bids will be opened on the 7th day of April, 2026, at 10:00 A.M. in the Conference Room, Benton County Service Center, 811 D Ave. Vinton, Iowa, for the purpose of selling said real estate.

All sealed bid inquiries, and submissions shall be made through the Benton County Auditor’s Office. The Board of Supervisors will only accept sealed bids through the designated accepted form that provides all reasonable notices to all seal bidders. The Board of Supervisors reserves the right to reject any and all bids.

All inquiries about the property shall be made through the Benton County Conservation Department.  

Sealed bid packets (including the sealed bid form) can be acquired from the Benton County Auditor’s Office, Benton County Conservation Department, or downloaded from the Benton County website at: www.bentoncountyia.gov/bid_notices.
