NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
Notice is hereby given that considerations to adopt Benton County Ordinance #80, Repealing Ordinance #37 shall be held as follows:
1st consideration-July 15, 2025 at 10:00 a.m.
2nd consideration-July 22, 2025 at 10:00 a.m.
3rd consideration-July 29, 2025 at 10:00 a.m.
In the Boardroom at the Benton County Service Center, 811 D Ave., Vinton, Iowa.
Title: Benton County Ordinance No.80
Summary: This ordinance provides many changes to current ordinance 37, Vicious animals. Specifically, it declares an animal to be a vicious animal if it attacks and injures a person or a domestic pet. It changes the definition of a dog at large and procedure for multiple offenses. It also changes current filing deadlines and makes other changes to provide better implementation of the ordinance.
